MEALS ON A BUDGET.
January 8

Cook a meal one day such as Herbed oven roasted chicken or maple brined pork loin, and learn how to use the leftovers in creative budget conscious ways. You will leave with lots of recipes and great ideas to stretch your food budget.

From quick pan-fried pheasant breast with an elegant plum sauce to marinated grilled quail with lots of duck in between!

Most recipes serve four to six people, leaving the solo cook in a predicament. We will have fun with recipes like Spicy Tortilla and Lime Soup and Tuscan Style Rib-Eye Steak with Rosemary and Garlic, to dressed-up salads and seasonal fruit gratins, each dish is designed to serve one in style. You will come away with essential tips and techniques that offer valuable advice on smart shopping for one and stocking the pantry.


PASTA ON THE SIDE -

Move over rice and potatoes! Small pastas like orzo, Israeli couscous and fregola make a delicious change of pace. We will have fun with dishes such as: orzo with lemon, garlic and herbs; Israeli couscous with saffron, toasted pine nuts and currants, and many others.
