Pete Kartsounes is no stranger to the life of a full time musician.
He has spent the past 13 years writing, recording and touring nationally and internationally.
Now living in Boulder, Colorado, Pete has established himself as a dominant figure in todays music scene.

Apart from playing festivals and venues nationwide as a member of the Wayword Sons "featuring Benny Galloway"
(writer behind the songs of Yonder Mountain String Band), Pete also plays as a solo act, and with his own band "Pete Kartsounes Band" (P.K.B).
The band consists of an amazing group of musicians, who's skill set has the ability to fit the genre of any event.
Pete's mixture of musical genres is extensive, making his music unique.
He writes ballads, blues, jazzy, bluegrass, standard-like and sometimes music that isn't so easy to describe
other than to say that they are "story-telling" songs. He is also known for his strong, soulful voice, and encompassing lyrics.
Referred to as a "must see" and "truely one of a kind" from critics, he is becoming one of the most prolific songwriters of today.

Pete's newest release "Out of Nowhere" is his 3rd and most essential albumn to date.
Getting rave reviews throughout the country, it is a tasteful blend of Bluegrass, Jazz, folk, and blues,
entwined with acoustic overtones and superb musicianship.
The disc includes many well known artists, some of which are Grammy Award Winner Sally Van Meter, Jeff Austin (Yonder Mtn String Band),
Drew Emmitt (Leftover Salmon), and Travis Book (The Infamous Stringdusters).
It was also recorded in DSD (Direct Stream Digital) format by Gus Skinas. It is truely original and visual music.

Two Dollar Bash are an acoustic folk/country/blues band, originally from Scotland, Ireland and
France, consisting of 4 talented singer-songwriters, who back up each other's compositions with an intuitive feel that can only come from many years of playing together. With great original songs, fine musicianship and impressive harmonies, the band blends influences from North American folk, blues and country with Celtic and European styles.

The four members, Mark Mulholland, Tony Rose, Matt de Harp and Joe Armstrong, have been playing together in different combinations throughout Europe for the past fifteen years, in a variety of bands including punk, rock, psychedelic and swing as well as the folkier formations, and also simply travelling around, picking up gigs and busking, swapping songs and stories with other musicians along the way. As well as honing their own songwriting and playing skills, this means that the band's repertoire includes many songs from friends, who in turn are singing Two Dollar Bash songs throughout Europe and North America.

Since the formation of this incarnation of the band in 2003, Two Dollar Bash has been touring
constantly throughout Europe, and has also completed two very successful tours of America. In
September 2005 they won the "Rising Legend" award at the 30th Old-time Country and
Traditional Music Festival in Missouri Valley, Iowa. In 2006 Two Dollar Bash played at the Latitude Festival in England, and were one of 4 bands from around the world selected to perform at the International Country Night showcase at the Popkomm music industry conference in Berlin. 2007 brought tours of Ireland, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, an extensive tour of the US and Canada which included showcase performances at the prestigious South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas and Canadian Music Week in Toronto, and a
major UK tour to coincide with the release of their albums there through Proper Distribution. Their first two albums, "Two Dollar Bash" and "On the Road", are released on Berlin label Cannery Row Records, who have also now released the third album, "Lost River", recorded in the summer of 2007 in a farmhouse in the Czech Republic by engineer Dugald Jayes (Hugo Race and the True Spirit) and producer Craig Ward (The Frames, deUs, The Love Substitutes). The new album reflects great development in the songwriting skills of each of the band members, as well as much richer and more varied arrangements. Initial reactions suggest that this record could propel Two Dollar Bash into a different league. Two Dollar Bash returned to Austin for a second successive showcase at SXSW 2008, completed an extensive British tour in June to coincide with the UK release of “Lost River” and toured throughout Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands during the autumn. The three albums are also available through all major download platforms. Two Dollar Bash has been invited to perform a showcase for a remarkable third successive year at SXSW 2009, and has also been invited to play an official showcase in February at the Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis, another important industry event. “Lost River” is due for release in the Benelux territories in May 2009 in partnership with Dutch label Corazong. Mark Mulholland's solo album “The Devil on the Stairs” which also features guest appearances by the other band members, and includes the TDB song “Taking a Taxi as a bonus track, has been released worldwide by London label Troubadour under license from Cannery Row Records. It will be released in the US through Koch Distribution on March 24th.

Press Reactions
"...the group’s organic, authentic sound provides plenty of moments to savour, taking in folk, country, blues and acoustic rock ... this has the potential to impress any fan of uncontrived, richly-textured roots music." Maverick, UK

“...one of the best European acoustic folk/country bands. The four musicians...are not only outstanding instrumentalists and singers, but also very talented songwriters.” MazzMusikaS, Belgium

“I really enjoyed this album, and I think you will too... It’s a really great sound” Bryan Burnett, Brand New Country, BBC Radio Scotland

“Real music with heart and soul from real musicians with heart and soul” Christine Helmeke, No
Fences, Germany

“This is heartfelt and very true Americana, and I bet they do a good live show.” Gary Whitehouse, Green Man Review, USA

“Like CSNY without the monstrous egos” John Davy, Crooked Rain, UK
„Great original songs, fine musicianship and a wealth of influences ... Ex-buskers all, the four wield their different combinations of guitar, drums, mandolin, banjo and the rest to beguiling effect. Intelligent lyrics tell of loss and longing, love and friendship, and always, of packing bags and moving on" Jane Cornwell, Jazzwise, UK

"This is good ol' time American music. There is blues, folk, country and chugging R'n'B in here. The auras of Canned Heat, Woody Guthrie, Neil Young and Springsteen waft on the breeze. And... there is an echo of the Rolling Stones' down-home bluesy vibe...This is classic big skies and barrooms music." Nathaniel Handy, Songlines, UK

“ really strong, timeless and striking in its simplicity... true to the motto “less is more”, Two Dollar Bash” win over the listener through memorable songs, honesty and sheer pleasure in playing” Christian Schäfer, My Revelations, Germany

"Two Dollar Bash are ready and raring to continue their plan to take the roots/Americana world by storm. Their blend of folk, country and blues combined with gorgeous three and four part harmonies has won them critical acclaim as well as several prestigious awards. The band's constant touring has honed their craft and the songs are ample proof that their time in the transit van has been justifiably spent." Mick Gaffney, Properganda Magazine, UK

"Two Dollar Bash … intuitively pick up on the nuances of American country, folk and rock that can trace a direct lineage back to the folk music of their own countries. They have a natural instinct for simple, haunting melodies, with narratives revolving around road trips, ailing relationships and the eternal internal battle of good and evil." Lolo Wood, music journalist, UK

"This group … is pretty folky in their approach to music, but it's the same kind of original folk creativity that Bob Dylan had when he started…Two Dollar Bash could easily be country, but I like their folky approach to their music. They have a banjo, but it's not bluegrassy. Some really strong acoustic guitar, lots of energy in their work, and some very poignant words in their lyrics. Bob Everhart, Tradition, USA

Steve Eulberg

Steve Eulberg

www.steveeulberg.com

Steve played music from his newest album, just released this month...

"A Piece of It All" and more!

An Award-winning multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, Steve Eulberg weaves mountain and hammered dulcimers
with a variety of unusual instruments to create thought-provoking, smile-inducing, toe-tapping acoustic experiences.

He has sung and composed for religious communities, union halls, picket lines, inter-faith retreats, mountain-top youth camps,
as well as the more familiar venues: clubs, coffeehouses, bookstores, festivals, charity benefits and showcase concerts.

Born and raised in the German-heritage town of Pemberville, Ohio, Steve was exposed to a variety of music in his home.
Early piano lessons were followed by trumpet in school band, and he became self-taught on ukelele and guitar and harmonica.
Mandolin was added at Capital University where, while majoring in History, he studied Ear Training,
Voice and took Arranging lessons from the Conservatory of Music.

While at college, he first heard hammered and mountain dulcimers, building his first mountain dulcimer just before his final year.
Seminary training took him the west side of Denver where he built his first hammered dulcimer.
With these instruments, he was able to give voice to the Scottish, English and Irish traditions to which he is also heir.

Following marriage in 1985 to Connie Winter-Eulberg he settled in Kansas City, Missouri. There he worked cross-culturally in a church of African-Americans,
Latinos and European Americans, with music being a primary organizing tool. He moved with his family in 1997 to be nestled beside the Rocky Mountains in Fort Coillins, Colorado.

Founder of Owl Mountain Music, Inc. he teaches and performs extensively in Colorado and Wyoming with tours across the US and the UK.
He delights in introducing the “sweet music” of dulcimers to people in diverse settings and in addition to his own recordings,
has included dulcimers in a variety of session work for other musicians.

In 2000 he was commissioned to create a choral composition featuring dulcimers for the Rainbow Chorus in Fort Collins.
It was recorded in the same year (BEGINNINGS). He is currently at work on a commissioned symphony that will feature hammered dulcimer and Australian didjeridu.

Eulberg passionately believes that music crosses cultural and language barriers because music builds community.
Influenced by a variety of ethnic styles, his music weaves vital lyric with rap, rock, folk, gospel and blues.
Audiences of all ages respond well to his presentation and to his warm sense of humor.

Steve is a member of Local 1000 (AFM), The Folk Alliance, BMI and BWAAG (Better World Artists and Activist’s Guild).

John Winn

John Winn

John Winn singing and playing at Willow Pond!

Known as a modern troubadour, John Winn's musical career has spanned six decades,
starting with formal voice training in college, stints as a tenor with a municipal opera company in St. Louis,
and as a coffeehouse singer in the early days of folk music in New York City.
Winn traveled with the Belafonte Singers, performed on stages with Bob Dylan, Judy Collins, and Jose Feliciano,
and performed at New Yorks Carnegie Hall with many of the early folk artists.
He performed at folk venues such as the Gaslight, Gerdes Folk City, and Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs, New York.
He toured the country as a featured vocalist with the Karlsrud Chorale, and toured nationally with the Belafonte Singers.
In the early 1960s, Winn performed at many of the early hootenanys
including appearances in Carnegie Hall and Town Hall in New York City.

Musical friend and compatriot Judy Collins introduced Winn to her manager, Daniel Gordon,
who was married to the folksinger Odetta. Gordon encouraged him to go to New York
where they booked him into Folk City. Winn moved to New York in 1960, just as the folk music scene was emerging on MacDougal Street in the Lower West Village. Bob Dylan soon arrived on the folk scene,
playing in many of the same coffeehouses. Winn spent a lot of time talking with Dylan,
including taking a memorable road trip with Bob to Ann Arbor, MI to perform in one of the early folk concerts.

His songs are filled with rich poetry that reflect on his life, his love of music, the rivers and canyons of the west,
and the mountains and seacoasts of Maine.
His songs and stories are written in the troubadour tradition of folk music.

John Winn's CDs will be available during the concert and at Willow Pond.

You can view John Winn's website at www.myspace.com/johnwinnmusic
